How is the tax calculated?

  • One mill equates to $1 for every

$1,000 of assessed valuation, or $2 for a two-mill levy.

  • Assessed valuation is one-third of

a property’s market value.

  • For example, a home with a

market value of $150,000 and an assessed valuation of $50,000 can expect a tax of $100 per year, or $8.33 per month.

  • This is not a new tax!

State funding has not kept up with operating costs for the past decade. Special education needs are increasing. Special education, and Student wellness and early intervention needs funding increases each year. Federal grants have experienced numerous cuts
