  • 1 Program and 1 Fiscal member make up a

team with separate portions of a checklist being reviewed by each.

  • If changes needed to be made both Fiscal and

Program had a conference call with the district

  • r met in person with the district together.

  • We asked for advance copies of the LCAP to assist

districts prior to taking them to their boards for approval, some districts took advantage of this and it was more successful than those did not.

Kern County’s Approach

  • Program and Fiscal met to create a check list
  • We met with the districts as a team and

guided them through the process, while we were learning as well.

  • We had 2 separate letters to the districts 1 to

approve the LCAP and 1 to approve the budget and they referenced each other and we sent them in the same envelope.
