  • Not to replace learning, but rather to be an

essential tool to aid in the education process by allowing students to access higher levels of thought about the content and processes of the curriculum.

The “Cut and Paste” Method

  • Studied other Mission Statements
  • Reviewed OUR Beliefs/Values, small groups work together to

design a Mission Statement on Sentence Strips.

  • Each group cut the Mission Statements into “chunks,” i.e.

meaningful words and phrases.

  • Reorganized to identified the common “chunks.”
  • Tried to use at least one “chunk” from each group’s statement

in a Mission Statement.
