Connection to Superintendent’s Goals

During the 2017‐18 school year, the Superintendent will:

  • Review monthly the academic progress of 100% of the schools that

did not reach full accreditation based on 2016‐17 test results (Measure 1.1.1).

  • Monitor the implementation and impact of the instructional coaches

at targeted schools and will utilize a comprehensive program evaluation to result in concrete recommendations for improving teaching and learning at those schools (Measure 1.1.1).

Connection to Superintendent’s Goals

During the 2017‐18 school year, the Superintendent will:

  • Collaboratively develop measurable improvement targets in core

content areas for 100% of schools, based on their performance during 2016‐17 (Measures 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3).

  • Ensure that schools increase the pass rates for students with

disabilities in reading and mathematics by at least 5% from 2017 to 2018 (Measure 1.1.2).

During the 2016‐17 school year, the Superintendent will:

  • Ensure that K‐12 building leadership has resources necessary to

provide transitional opportunities for students from elementary to middle and middle to high school so that the 2017 On‐Time Graduation Rate will meet or exceed 91.8%, as reported by VDOE.
