 $102 Million dedicated for further development of statewide interoperable communications for public safety – SICG (Statewide Interoperable Communications Grant) - $56.5 million reimbursed  $9 Million (PSAP 2012) dedicated for proposals relating to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) operations – PSAP 2012 Grant - $5.2 million reimbursed  $9 Million PSAP 2013 Grant - $170,062 reimbursed

  • Comments due June 4th - New York is preparing a reply with the

PSBBWG

  • Due end of September (recently moved from July 31)
  • Coverage priorities, user base, metrics on calls and user density.
  • FirstNet has named a FirstNet Region 2 Outreach Coordinator (includes

New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands

Consultation

  • FirstNet came to New York on April 20th for the initial

consultation

  • About 50 attendees for a full day
  • New York provided a list of questions / topics of interest to

FirstNet

  • Some answered, some not answered
  • Only the first of likely many future meetings – consultation is

an iterative process

Mutualink County Deployment

  • Each county who elects to participate will receive 5 software licenses

(Mutualink Edge) and two radio interfaces (RNICs)

  • Video and telephone interfaces are available
  • Each county in the State received a letter and MOA to review and return
  • 21 signed MOAs returned to date
  • Once returned, it goes to the Office of the Attorney General and the

Office of the State Comptroller for approval

  • After approval, Mutualink contacts the county to begin installation

planning

  • Already installed in Rockland and Oneida Counties as part of the K-12

school safety pilot (which includes 10 schools in each county)
