Objective / Purpose The key objective of the Project Charter is to formally authorize the Project and provides the assigned project manager with the authority to apply organizational resources to project activities. The key benefits from a Project Charter are; a well defined project start, creation of a formal record of the project, and a direct way for the Project Steering Committee to formally accept and commit to the project.
