INGRESS & EGRESS

We have PROPOSED the following and will have a series of meetings with TFL and Southwark and Lambeth highways team in the coming 2 weeks to review, revise and agree. The plans make a contingency for 1 or 2 hour closures, but plans will enable us to keep buses flowing for as long as possible and for us to lift the closures as soon as it is deemed safe.

  • Dedicated security, cleansing and community impact teams to work solely on areas between the event perimeter and

key transport hubs. Toilet facilities and bins located at Windrush Square (also with info point), Halfords/PC World, within the park at the Brixton Water Lane end, and at Herne Hill Station.

  • Residents access only 'soft' road closures on Arlingford Road, Brailsford Road, Trelawn Road and Brockwell Park

Gardens, to prevent attendees from parking on the streets and minimise vehicular traffic around pedestrians. No waiting restrictions on roads surrounding the park. Parking suspensions and a lane width reduction on Brixton Water Lane, to allow more space for pedestrians.

  • EGRESS ONLY - The temporary closure of Brixton Water Lane, Morval Road and the southbound lane of the A204 for 1

hour on the Friday, 2 hours on the Saturday, and 1 hour on the Sunday (bus access will be maintained northbound on the A204, with a diversion for south-bound routes). The following roads would be closed in accordance with the lane closure, with resident’s access maintained: Bailey Mews, Masey Mews, Mervan Road, Kellett Road, Saltoun Road.

  • EGRESS ONLY - The temporary closure of the junction of Norwood and Dulwich Road, and the northbound lane of

Norwood Road for 1 hour on the Friday, 2 hours on the Saturday, and 1 hour on the Sunday (bus access will be maintained in both directions, apart from a short period at peak egress).

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Local Organisations

  • The Field Day Community Fund (which is made up from guestlist donations from the festival) will be awarded to

Brockwell Park groups, organisations & initiatives. The panel will consist of the BPCP chair, Field Day director and ward councillor and will be allocated within 28 days of the festival taking place to help fund projects within Brockwell Park.

  • Field Day is working with Lambeth Music Network and running a competition to open the Mainstage on Friday 1st and

Saturday 2nd June. This will be judged by Lambeth Music Network, Field Day and Giles Petersen and present local musicians with a fantastic opportunity to perform on the mainstage.

  • Field Day is in discussions with local charity 198 to offer work experience and placements to local young people in the

fields of social media, artist liaison, marketing & PR & Event Production over an agreed period through to delivery of the festival.

  • Field Day is also in discussions with Reprezent radio (based in POP Brixton) and Bussey building in nearby Peckham

about forming partnerships.

  • Field Day are running a ticket ballot for 500 tickets per day of the festival which local residents can enter. They need to

send proof of ID and proof of address to ballot@fielddayfestivals.com and will be entered into the draw which will be made on Monday 2nd April. Residents can only enter if they are from designated affected streets, the full list of which can be found on our website.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Brockwell Park Organisations

  • We have ongoing dialogue with the BPCP since November on their member’s questions and concerns and are next

presenting at their 25th March meeting to continue with this engagement.

  • We have met with the Miniature Railway, advising that access routes will stay clear to enable them to access their train

carriages and there will be security on the stretch of pathway adjacent to the railway throughout the festival. They are to decide if they wish to open and operate.

  • St Matthews Project - Their primary concern was around the state of the football pitch afterwards and would need to

move the Saturday football during the show weekend. We will be sharing our reinstatement plans as they progress going forward.

  • Brockwell Lido Cafe, we will be further exploring how we can best work together moving forward and potentially hiring

the cafe space as a back of house artist space. We have tried to meet with Lee White from Brockwell Lido but as yet have not had contact.

  • Brixton Bowlers, we discussed fencing the bowling green and hut (allowing access as St Matthews Project also use this

as storage) and including the areas by the green as part of the perimeter patrols to combat any anti social behaviour. We will be meeting with them ahead of the meeting on the 25th in Brockwell Park to confirm on the fencing.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Local External Licensed Businesses

  • We aim both through the Herne Hill Forum who represent a number of local licensed businesses and further

information from Lambeth Events as to other licensed businesses that have been in touch to arrange meetings and promote the Field Day Hub which will be set up external to the site specifically for any concerns or queries of local residents, businesses and organisations.

  • We are meeting with as many licensed businesses as possible on the key access routes. We have met with the

Hootnenanny - They are aware we will have a manned hub external to the festival site which they can be in contact with over the live timings. Local External Non-Licensed Businesses

  • We are working to engage as much as possible with local non licensed businesses to best understand their operating

hours, access requirements and concerns and to best mitigate these. Through the Herne Hill forum and the database we hope to build on, we will communicate with them our management plans, operating schedules and contact number throughout the festival which has a dedicated team to action any concerns where required.

Hill focused feedback from previous events.

  • We have had discussions with Herne Hill Forum on sustainability, and information on the festival.

ecology and the production and planning of the event.

  • We will take forward relations with businesses on the surrounding area and ensure they are fully informed.
  • We will hold a final stakeholder meeting to review the final presentation for the public meetings on the w/c 5th April.
  • The final public meeting held w/c 16th April, with a resident letter detailing contact details during the festival to be
