Cockram Construction has been working closely with Cox Architecture and the design team for several months on the design plans and is ready to hit the ground running.
The Cockram team has experience in similar projects including the MCG Digital Stadium, Western Australian Institute of Sport, Blacktown Cricket/AFL Stadium and the Camberwell Grammar School New Sports Complex project.
Over the next few months, the Cockram team will undertake demolition activities including removal of the RL Morton and tennis club pavilions at the northern end of the oval which will make way for the new three storey training and administration building. These works will also include the removal of selected trees from within the site to allow construction activities to take place. A tree replacement program has been approved by Parks Victoria to ensure the canopy at Junction Oval will be rejuvenated in the years to come.
