located in the educational building. Should it become necessary for you to leave the sanctuary during worship, you can view the morning service on the TV in the nursery. PLEASE NOTE - Only Newborn to Kindergarten age children are permitted in the Nursery during our morning worship service to allow safety for the newborns and toddlers. Children 1st Grade and older need to remain in the church and enjoy a Quiet Bag. Thank you for your understanding!!

If you are interested in attending, please sign up on the North bulletin board in the sanctuary. Price varies from $20.00 to $35.00 for the show plus $10.50 for lunch. Group seating is possible. YOUTH TH NEW NEWS! S! Children’s Bulletin We will be offering a children’s’ bulletin beginning May 6th. There will be one for children ages 3- 6 years and one for children ages 7-12 years. These will be handed out before church as you are entering the sanctuary. Ask the greeter for an age appropriate bulletin as you enter. Busy bags will still be available for children also and can be picked up after the Children’s Chat as always. Junior church is for children pre-K through 2nd grade immediately following the children’s

• chat. Leaders and helpers are needed each week for Jr. Church. We are looking for senior

high youth and adults to VOLUNTEER and we need at least 2 volunteers each week. There is a sign-up sheet in the hallway near the nursery to volunteer to help a week. You may sign up as a leader or helper. Lessons for leaders are found at the top of the stairs in the trunk. Odyssey Island, VBS will be July 16-19, 2012 at Wayne Street United Methodist church 6:00 to 8:15 PM. Students may register online at www.waynestreetumc.org. We need

Beware: Pink Flamingos coming to St. Marys Ohio

A rare flock of pink flamingos have been spotted in St. Marys. There is no need to worry, Landa Tomlinson the Youth Director, and St. Paul’s Youth Group has experience with pink

• flamingos. There are several things you can do to prepare for this flock that is now here.

You may buy insurance for a small fee; this is to protect yourself against this flock landing in your yard or on your property. To ensure the flock is handled carefully and moves from place to place on a regular basis you may ask the youth group to place the flock in someone’s yard, for a small fee. If indeed the flock gets placed in your yard, please remember the flock is rare; please do not remove these flamingos yourself. Call the St. Paul’s Youth Group, and we will gladly remove them for you for a small fee, since we are experienced with pink flamingos. As in real life, you carry insurance in case of accidents, and you are covered when an accident happens. If you buy insurance the flock still may land in your yard, but you are covered by the insurance and will not have to pay for them to be removed. The flock is known to move slowly from yard to yard in the late evenings, and may suddenly appear from nowhere when you least expect it, so watch out, but not too closely, they don’t like people to see them on the move. Forms may be found in The Communicator, the bulletin, and at the entrances of the sanctuary. Prepare for the flock! GIRLS NIGHT OUT: “It’s a Shoe In” Girl’s Night Out will be held on Monday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Dinner will be provided. Cost is $2 for adults and $.50 for those under the age of 16. The theme for this year is “It’s a Shoe In”. We will discuss how what we wear on our ‘spiritual feet’ is

• important. Tickets will be sold after church on April 29 and May 6. If you have any

West Ohio Food Bank Facebook: We need your help!! Walmart is currently giving One Million Dollars to the food bank that receives the most votes on Facebook. Bus trip to Shipshewana: The hospital Auxiliary is sponsoring a bus trip to Shipshewana on May 15, 2012. The cost is $50 per person. The bus will depart from the Kmart parking lot at 6:30 a.m. There will be a stop on the way up and a stop for dinner on the way home. An envelope will be passed around the bus for the driver's tip. Senior Supper Hour: JTDMH is sponsoring a Senior Supper Hour on May 3, 2012 at the U.S.W. Local 200 Union Hall (227 E. South Street - St. Marys). Dinner at 5:00 p.m. with entertainment and speaker, Spittin' Image to follow. The Admission Fee to the dinner is $7.00. A FREE blood pressure check will be held prior to the dinner from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Mission Moment

Do you know what’s been called “The Ultimate Immigration Handbook”? The Bible; for it is a virtual compendium of stories about immigrants and refugees: Jesus, David, Moses, Paul. In the Hebrew scriptures, Joseph was a victim of what we now call “human trafficking,” when people are transported, against their will or unknowingly, to other countries to work in slavery-like conditions or as sex workers. Baby Moses, who today would be considered an “unaccompanied alien child” and sent to a juvenile detention center, was protected and loved by Pharaoh’s daughter. He grew up to lead the Hebrew people out of Egypt to escape unjust working conditions and terrible poverty. Centuries later, according to the New Testament, the holy family fled to Egypt to avoid living under a murderous tyrant. The United Church of Christ, along with others in Church World Service and with support from the UCC's One Great Hour of Sharing offering — has joined in resettling nearly 500,000 refugees in the United States during the past 50 years. Sponsoring a refugee family can be a transformational, faith-deepening experience for a local church—a truth affirmed by Hebrews 13:2: “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.”
