Purpose of ESJ Initiative • Advance vision for equity in CPUC programs and policies • Identify actions the CPUC can take to better engage with and serve ESJ communities • Develop and maintain a living document that identifies CPUC actions that support ESJ communities and evolves as the CPUC better understands the needs of these communities 3

Contents of ESJ Action Plan • Description of CPUC’s role in promoting equity in ESJ communities • Definition of ESJ communities • Goals for integrating environmental and social justice into CPUC work • Objectives that detail what is needed to meet each goal • Actions the CPUC and others are taking or will take to meet the goals 4

  5. Goals 1. Integrate equity and access considerations throughout CPUC proceedings 2. Increase investment in clean energy resources to benefit ESJ communities 3. Strive to improve access to high-quality water, communications, and transportation services for ESJ communities 4. Increase climate resiliency of ESJ communities 5
