An ATAR will be calculated from  5 General subjects OR  4 General subjects & a VET Cert III & above subject OR  4 General subjects & an Applied subject. ATAR assignment requires successful completion of an English subject

ATAR - ASSIGNING A TERTIARY ENTRANCE RANK

slide-12
SLIDE 12

Subject results in General subjects (academic) will be based on student achievement in four summative assessments — three internal assessments and one external assessment that QCAA sets and marks. Subject results in Applied (practical) subjects will be based on student achievement in four internal assessments.

ATAR - ASSESSMENT IN YEAR 12

slide-13
SLIDE 13

ATAR

For most General subjects, the internal assessment will contribute 75% to the final subject result, except in mathematics and science subjects, where it will contribute 50%. External assessment will be in all General subjects, but it will not be used to scale a student’s internal assessment result. Instead, the external assessment result will be added to the internal assessment result to arrive at a final subject result.
