Have you sent your test scores to that school? (ACT) actstudent.org (SAT) collegeboard.com

  • I f you want to use your school test you need to get your scores
  • nto your ACT account.
  • I f you have only taken the ACT at school you can use the

code on your score report while creating an account at ACT.

  • I f you already have a ACT account and you want to add

the school scores to it you will have to call ACT directly and speak with their customer service to get your scores linked. Test scores need to be sent directly from the testing company by setting up an account online

Ordering Your Transcripts

 Go to: http://www.parchment.com/

– Click on “create account” and follow instructions – Once registered, the website will provide additional

instructions for ordering your transcripts: Transcripts can be sent to academic destinations, (colleges, universities, etc.), the NCAA, the Common Application, or any other destination of your choosing.

What is the cost?

 The cost of a typical transcript is $3.33 and must be charged to a

debit/credit card. (Pre-paid credit cards can be purchased, for a small fee, at places like Walgreens, Walmart, and CVS.)

 Students who meet the eligibility requirements for an

ACT/SAT fee waiver are also eligible for four free transcripts during their high school career. If you receive free or reduced- price lunch, are part of the AVID program, or have a challenging financial situation please create an account at Parchment.com and then contact your school counseling office for more information about a fee waiver.

Application Process Continued

 Pay Close Attention to Deadlines (give time for a good

recommendation)

– Early Decision - (Binding Contract) – Early Action - earlier deadline for application and you receive

acceptance decision earlier; not binding

– Regular Decision – Some schools have application deadlines (common application

schools) and others have rolling admissions. Check school websites for deadlines. The earlier you apply t he bet t er.

– All applications need to be turned in to your

counselor by December 1st

 Are non-refundable  UW System Schools – application fee of $50 for each

school you apply to, $60 to UW-Madison

 Madison College - $35 application fee – ALSO $20

Fee to take the required compass test. (They also accept the ACT now so may or may not need to take the Compass Test.

 Other schools – application fees can range from $20 -

$100

 If you qualify for free/reduced lunch, see your

counselor about a waiver for the application fees or check online at the college you are applying to for a fee waiver.

 Many high demand programs fill early and have waiting

lists. Programs that typically have waiting lists:

  • All Health Occupations programs – registered nursing,

surgical technician, and radiography.
