These have been selected as our values because we need to make them central to our way of working if we are to achieve our vision. Our approach is now based on active engagement with all the people who have a stake in the waterways. We need to show that we care; e; to be open in

  • ur communications; to promote local

cal ideas and support local communities; and that we offer genuine invo volv lveme ment nt in our work. Underpinning all of this we must continue to strive for excell llenc nce in all that we do.

Our canals have a significant and unique role to play, connecting people, places and opportunities by improving the physical environment and prospects for people and the wider economy, as well as supporting carbon reduction and environmental sustainability. The canal network already generates public benefits to local communities and the economy within the South East, but they have the potential to deliver so much more.
