CHANGES TO THE GRIZZLY DEN • Den Names – a twist on Cherokee and Georgia names • 6 th grade dens – Landmarks in Georgia (Brasstown Ridge) • 7 th grade dens – Names of Creeks or Lakes in Georgia (Tugaloo Trail) • 8 th grade dens – Regions/Islands of Georgia (Cumberland Hill) • Students submit ideas for den names! Students submitting the names that are selected will win a Grizzly shirt. • Shirts for each den will be on sale in the fall for field trips, team events and to promote school and team pride • Team/den selection – students will be randomly assigned to dens.

IN THE GRIZZLY DEN • 7 period day • 5 classes – Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading (or Spanish/French) • Exploratory Connections – Art, FACS, PE, Health, Technology, Band & Chorus • Academic Connections – Peer Helpers, Newspaper, REP Reading & Math, STEM, Math & Reading Enrichment • Course Selections and Student Choice • Courses are determined by grades, test scores, and classroom performance. • HS Credit Courses for Foreign Language – Spanish or French • Peer Helpers • Band and/or Chorus
