ABOUT SET

The School of Engineering and Technology amalgamating the School of Civil Engineering (SCE) and the School of Advanced Technologies (SAT) will strive to create synergies between the activities of the two former schools to build up world-class multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary education, research and outreach activities across the boundaries of traditional fields of knowledge. More interdisciplinary programs shall be launched so faculty members can work effectively across the disciplinary walls. The new school will enhance its academic portfolio by emphatically injecting the "5I" features namely internationality, innovation, integration, information technology and industrial partnership.

Mechatronics

Mechatronics field of study prepares students to gain expertise not

  • nly as the system integrators but also as the builders of the

components of advanced technologies.

  • Mechatronics provides students a new insight in the field of

automation through an integrated consideration of mechanics, electronics and information technology.

  • The preferred fields of undergraduate study for the candidates

seeking admission to Mechatronics are Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
