Existing Conditions – Traffic Volumes

Traffic Volumes

  • 2012 MAPA Traffic Count

Map show volumes of 4,200 east of 84th Street, between 2,700 to 3,800 between N-50 and 84th Street, and less than 2,000 between N-50 and N- 31.

Impacts of US 34 Bridge Opening

  • 2014 MAPA traffic counts show that

daily traffic volumes increased to 4,400 vehicles per day east of 84th Street after the opening of the new bridge.

Short Term Improvements

108th Street Interim Project

  • Design of the interim project is

complete.

  • Right‐of‐Way plans are currently under

review.

  • Acquisition of Right‐of‐Way is tentatively

scheduled for 2017 but will depend on budget availability. 84th Street Interim Project

  • Detailed design of this project has not

begun.

  • This project will occur after the

completion of the 108th Street improvements

  • Future phases are subject to budget

availability.

Cross Section Alternatives

  • Arterial. Primary function is to

carry longer‐distance flows Arterials can be either urban with curb and gutter or rural with travel shoulders.

  • Expressway. Construct a new

expressway, which is a divided arterial highway for through traffic with full or partial control

  • f access and with grade

separations provided at major intersections.
