August 3, 2012 • Student diversity engineering and science organization officers from SDSU, UCSD, San Diego City College and Southwestern College collaborated with professional chapter representatives for 2012-2013. Summer Team Internship Program • Symposium held on August 10, 2012 at SDSU • Interns shared their summer internship experiences using a scientific-poster format visual aid during open networking. Mentors were also recognized for their efforts. 6

SWC GIFT OF SCHOLARSHIP GALA SATURDAY OCTOBER 06, 2012  Yearly Gala to raise funds for the SWC Foundation  Funds are mainly used for student scholarships and to support student activities.  This year 2012 and due to the loss of funding for the SWC MESA Program, and per the recommendation of the Superintendent/President, the Gala devoted special time to raise funds in support of the MESA program, utilizing a live auction.  Companies donating time and/or funds: Atkins, Turner and SPAWAR  What IAB can do to helpSWC and San Diego MESA Alliance:  Buy seats or table in 2013 Gala Event  Make donations to the SWC MESA Donation Fund  Donate one paid internship per company per summer FOUNDATION PRESIDENT , VIRY MARTINO AND SWC SUPERINTENDENT/PRESIDENT 15 VIRY MARTINO GALA SPEAKER SUPPORTING MESA
