Main Profiles of Eritrean Applicants • Majority single young men • 18-34 years old • Mostly Christian (some Muslims) • Majority Tigrinya ethnic group (but also Tigre) • There is a considerable number of Eritrean UAMs.

Recurrent Grounds • Open-ended Eritrean National Service (deserters, draft evaders, family members of…) • Illegal exit • Religious persecution (Jehovah’s witnesses, pentecostals, etc.) • Eritreans born in Ethiopia or Sudan and never lived in Eritrea
