Services;6 programs, 9 budgets, 18 employees/consultants • Lakota Tiwahe Center: provides screening for children birth to 5 years old • Truancy Intervention: provides services to K-12 students- 2 advocates available • Higher Education Scholarship Program: provides limited funding to eligible students • Wakanyeja Tiokihe Oti: a Lakota Immersion Project for Pre-School Children • School Improvement Services/Collect and Interpretation of School Data to develop State of the Reservation Report for The Tribal Council • Lakota Language and Culture Curriculum Development and Implementation

  5. • Schools • 2 Tribal Grant Entities (SFIS, Sicangu Owayawa Oti) also have Sicangu students at Crazy Horse School • 5 Public Schools (TCSD, WRSD, WSD*, GSD,SCSD)- MOU with the State of SD to access data from these schools • 2 private (Sapa Un Academy and White Eagle) • Tribally Controlled University

TED Grant Year 1 • Goal 1: Tribal Educational Code Development - The Rosebud Sioux Tribe (RST) through the Rosebud Sioux Tribe’s Education Department will provide for the development and enforcement of the RST Tribal Educational Code, including educational policies and standards applicable to curriculum, personnel, students, facilities, support programs, and governance outcomes.

  8. • General Plan: Review/Revision of the RST Education Code and development of a procedural Manual

  9. • Objectives: 1. The Rosebud Sioux Tribe will conduct 5 Community Forums to solicit ideas for revisions to the RST Education Code 2. The RST Education Department will revise the Education Code and begin development of the Guidance booklet 3. The RST Education Department will hire an attorney to work with the NARF to conduct a legal review and legislative analysis of the revised RST Education Code and the RST Penal Code for enforcement of the Education Code 4. The RST Education Department will build an implementation guidance and enforcement recommendation to the RST Governing 5. The RST Education Department will provide information regarding the implementation of the grant per requirements and attend required meetings

  10. Rosebud Sioux Tribe requires Grant funds to be available before any activities begin and we are in the process of completing the Tribe’s requirements.
