  3. The storm water and sediment control industry employs a variety of temp tempora orary ry, non‐reusable envir environme mental ntal pro produc ducts ts which act to slow down the volume and turbidity of water flow and to retain or capture sediment for use on construction sites and other environmentally sensitive locations such as hillsides, waterway shorelines, landscaping, agricultural and other applications and settings. Tradit ditio ional al filter er products ducts currently in use such as:  Hay bales  Silt fences  Filter socks o Fabricated out of a variety materials typically filled with compost, wood bark, straw, foam, carpet fibers and other fill materials. These traditional methods have inherent problems …

  4. RocSoxx, LLC has developed a very viable solution … an improved, reusable filter product. Our gabion sock design, which we call RocSoxx™ , represents a cross between gabions (large permanent steel or iron cages or mesh filled with large rocks) and traditional filter socks. Our flagship products are our seamless RocSoxx™ tubular configuration, and our seamless RocSAXX™ rhomboidal (sand- bag style) configuration. Our products are dependable and will afford numerous advantages over the traditional filter socks.

  5. RocSoxx™ RocSoxx™ : Our single-layered tubular-shape • available in a 4.5 ” and a 6.5 ” diameter. Our standard length is 6 ’ 6 ” and comes in a bright blue color. Standard weight on our 4.5 ” diameter RocSoxx is 60-80 lbs. and 100-120 lbs. on the 6.5 ” diameter when filled with cobble. Ro RocSAXX cSAXX ™ : A seamless, single-layered, • stackable rhomboidal-shaped gabion with a 11.8 ” diameter. Standard length is 24 ” and comes in a bright blue color. Standard weight 70-90 lbs. when filled. RocSAXX™ Lengths and colors are customizable. • Our design uses an extruded high‐tensile, heavy-duty, large aperture polymer mesh filled with a mixture of large, 4 ‐ 1 minor rock or cobble (DOT crushed concrete).

  6. Durable – ability to hold heavy weight.  High tensile strength and stretching capability without deforming the  mesh. Flexible, easily bent or shaped while filled with cobblestone.  Greatly reduced ability of water to undermine by means of flowing  under or around them by pushing them out of position. Avoid damage arising from the flow of water, the pressure of soil, and  disturbance by on-site activities such as equipment, truck traffic, and physical handling. Our products are man-portable and re-usable with a life-span of 5-10  years. They can simply be sprayed off and used again on other jobsite locations. Highly resistant to UV rays, hot and cold weather, and other elements  which typically limit the lifespan of polymers. Require little or no maintenance. 

  7. Demo RocSoxx™ in our standard color filled with cobble and ready to be transported to the Anderson Columbia Highway 331 expansion project in Florida for continued testing purposes. These demo versions were zip-tied from rolled flat mesh product manufactured by Tenax Corporation. RocSoxx™ commercial version will be seamless tube or rhomboid shape.

  8. Examples of RocSoxx™ and RocSAXX™ being used together 1. Complementary RocSoxx™ and RocSAXX™ with the latter addressing deeper part of pool. 2. Stacked RocSAXX™ Poultry wire mesh corrodes rapidly and poses a safety hazard while handling.

  9. Straw wattles previously stacked were washed away leading to severe bank erosion.

  10. Photos from Anderson Columbia’s Highway 331 Florida project where we are testing our products. For testing purposes, Anderson Columbia placed RocSoxx™ alongside a berm in which a culvert was being installed to transport water from a gully into a slough for twin purpose of: (1) Protecting the water inlet from sediment. (2) Protect the berm from so the culvert would not collapse. ‘Before’ or ‘pre - rain’ photograph

  11. ‘After’ or ‘post - rain’ photograph (Stakes placed solely as perimeter markers to keep heavy equipment operators away from the structure). 1.5” of rain fell over several hours. The culvert could not keep up with the water volume and it washed away a portion of the berm; however, the stacked RocSoxx™ were not moved, and they trapped a significant amount of sediment (8-12 inches). The sediment was shoveled out to indicate depth. Trapped plants & dirt from water-flow trapped on top of stacked RocSoxx™, showing depth of water flow

  12. This picture shows a concrete-lined gully running alongside Highway 331, in which a series of stacked RocSoxx™ were placed to slow down the rate of water and to capture sediment flowing off of the adjoining road project. After a major rainfall, approximately 2 ’ of sediment was trapped behind the stacked RocSoxx™ .

  13. Stacked RocSoxx ™ performed their job in capturing sediment and slowing water flow, however, straw bales and erosion fabric protecting adjoining berm failed allowing unfiltered water to circumvent the RocSoxx ™ barrier.
