  4. BLENDED LEARNING Blount County Schools will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or handicapping conditions, including limited English proficiency, in its decision, nor will it enforce this policy in such a manner that would otherwise violate state or federal law or court order.

  5. Blended Learning - Academic 1 This option replaces our traditional school schedule. Students will attend school Tuesday through Friday following a traditional schedule. On Monday, students will complete remote assignments from home using the online Schoology platform.

  6. Blended Learning - Health and Wellness Home is the most important line of defense. We depend on families to self-monitor and to self-report symptoms of illness to their local school to protect our entire school community. If your child is symptomatic DO NOT SEND THEM TO SCHOOL! Common Symptoms May Include: Fever, Shortness of Breath, Cough, Muscle Aches Headache, Loss of Taste or Smell, Nausea, Vomiting, or Diarrhea Blount County Schools has a plan to excuse absences for COVID-19 symptoms and confirmed cases.

  7. Blended Learning - Health and Wellness School is another point on the line of defense. Administrators will be limiting visitor access. Additional cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting will be scheduled to promote a cleaner environment. Students are encouraged to wear facemasks in congested areas on campus; however, they will not be required to wear them in the classroom. The school nurse will partner with faculty and staff to identify symptomatic students and contact parents as necessary. Students are encouraged to bring their own water bottles. To reduce exposure to illness, public water fountains will not be available.

  8. Blended Learning - Child Nutrition 1 All schools will continue to serve breakfast and lunch. Please take advantage of MyPaymentsPlus which allows you to prepay on your child’s lunch account; this will help us avoid transmission of viruses through currency. All parents need to submit a Free and Reduced Price Meal Application regardless of income. This form supports your school’s overall funding.

  9. Blended Learning -Transportation 1 Transportation is also a point on the line of defense. Students will be required to wear face masks while traveling on school buses. Buses will be sanitized after each route. Hand sanitizer will be provided on each bus. Each student will have a seating assignment. Siblings will sit in close proximity. All students are strongly encouraged to wear facemasks when entering and exiting the building; this includes car riders and student drivers.

  10. REMOTE LEARNING Blount County Schools will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or handicapping conditions, including limited English proficiency, in its decision, nor will it enforce this policy in such a manner that would otherwise violate state or federal law or court order.

  11. Remote Learning - Academic Students will learn from home under the direction of local school teachers through the Schoology Learning Management Platform. They will remain on pace with students participating in blended learning. Mondays are set aside to provide support to learners both virtually and face- to-face by appointment. The request for this support may be initiated by the student, parent/guardian, or the teacher. Support includes assessments, progress monitoring, tutoring, and/or other services. Instructional technology devices may be available from the school for students on a case by case basis. Students will be required to participate in state assessments and progress monitoring. Attendance will be determined by adequate completion of assignments in SCHOOLOGY and other factors outlined in the agreement.

  12. Remote Learning - Health & Wellness To better support remote learners who physically enter the school for Monday support or athletics, please review the following information: Administrators will be limiting visitor access.
