• RKL LTD is established in 2009 in Varna, Bulgaria by three ambitious young families , inspired by the magic of essential oils and motivated to establish modern and successful organic agriculture farming, as per EU standards .
Important facts about RKL development: • In 2009 we found a perfect place for herbs cultivating in an old fashioned village called Bial Briag. It is located in the middle of a beautiful sunlit valley where the river Kamchia flows and at the foothills of the mighty Balkan mountain, in North-east part of country at an altitude of 240m. The area has a long lasting history in lavender and other herbs growing. • 2009: We started with 13ha mature (8 years old) Lavender field.
• 2010: We were organic certified by CERES GmbH. We also established new 4ha Lavender and 10ha Melissa fields in the mountain meadows. • 2010: In the beginning of summer the new RKL Distillery started covering increased company needs. • 2011: In spring a new 14ha German Chamomile field was planted. In NOV the new 15 ha Lavender and 4ha Milfoil/Yarrow were added.
• 2012: In November a new 16ha Lavender field was planted. • 2012: In total till the end of November 2012 the company is running 65 ha. of different cultivated herbs. • 2012: The new distillery is contracted and will be established in spring of 2013. Another 14ha fields was acquired for future product development.
OUR ADVANTAGES • - Young, educated, multi-lingual and highly motivated staff with versatile skills – both in agriculture and international trade, always looking for new ideas about products, innovations in agriculture and market trends. • - Flexibility – we are trying to organize and offer best portfolio covering our customer expectations and even future needs. For example: In 2010 we made experiment growing Angelica. In 2011 same experiment with St.John`s Wort and Lovage.
• -Always looking for partners in F&F industry, but not for customers only. We are focusing on long term relations with strong and reliable partners sharing our philosophy for modern and responsible business. • - Social responsibility: being organic, our fields are never treated with any sort of pesticides or herbicides. Therefore we apply a lot of manual labor in our farming. Each season from March till November we employ at least 30 people, all locals, for our farming operations. • - Closed cycle: ever since we started back in 2009, our primary goal has been to close the cycle from growing of the plant through distillation in our own facilities up to the end customer. This way we can ensure quality of the end product that would meet the requirements of our international standards and the expectations of our clients.
Our strength • - Our strength - We are the initiators and founders of BEOG – Boutiques Essential Oils Group. BEOG is a commercial union of small Bulgarian producers of rare organic and top quality and 100% pure herbal essential oils, brought together by common ideals and goals. BEOG consolidates the efforts of its founders and members to promote organic agriculture, particularly the production of high quality organic essential oils. The main goal of the group is to attract adherents who appreciate the value of natural products and who treasure the natural resources of which Bulgaria is so rich. • The main task of the founders is to unite the various small farmers under a standardized and controlled production and distillation process so as their special products to be able to meet the high standards of the world markets • http://www.beog.eu
