BACKGROUND

DOEE offers financial incentives to install green roofs:

  • RiverSmart Rooftops – rebates of $10 to $15 per square foot
  • Stormwater Retention Credit Trading ‐ sell SRCs to development sites
  • RiverSmart Rewards – discounts on a property’s stormwater fees

New Stormwater Management Regulations

  • 1.2” retention requirement
  • Green roofs can be a cost‐effective means to meet regulatory

requirements if incorporated in early phases of design
