Meta-Majors Revision Proposal DVC April 11, 2018 draft

Our process so far: • Fall 2015 : Scheduling Committee engaged Noel Levitz Consulting Group for enrollment management project. Conclusion: students have trouble finding majors in our long, alphabetical list. • Spring 2016 : Developed eight “ c lusters” of majors in consultation with faculty and student focus groups. Created interest statements and added them to the website under “Explore your Academic Interests” • January 2017 : Deans and Department Chairs meeting devoted to discussing and suggesting revisions for Clusters • Fall 2017 : “Clusters” design team formed to discuss the structure and use of meta-majors • Spring 2018 : Design team conducts student and prospective student focus groups and research for further revision efforts — now seeking college feedback
