Resurfacing Projects for Complete Streets Potomac Avenue (S Crystal Dr to County Line) What we heard from you Goals & Guidance Project Guidance:  Complete Streets Policy  Identified as primary bicycling corridor in the Master Transportation Plan South North Project Goals:  Improve bike safety along Potomac Avenue and improve connectivity between Crystal Drive, Four Mile Run Trail, and Potomac Yard Trail What we know about existing conditions Desire for an improved corridor connection between Potomac Potomac Ave consists of four travel lanes (two in each direction Yard and Crystal City for people walking and biking separated by a median), standard bike lanes, and southbound curbside parking lane. Reports of issues with vehicles blocking existing bike lane 85 th percentile speed: 27 mph  Speed Limit: 25 mph Desire for a pedestrian connection (currently, no sidewalk exists)  Traffic: ~5000 vehicles per day 11 crashes since 2016: 45% angle crashes  Reports of issues with vehicles turning into transit lanes*  Two bicycle crashes since 2015 Desire for improved walking and biking tie-ins from the bike lanes at Crystal Drive and the trail connections just south of Glebe Rd.* *Out of scope for the resurfacing program, but helpful feedback for future consideration More information: arlingtonva.us and search “Resurfacing for Complete Streets”
