• Trade concern 342: Restriction of Shrimps due to antioxidants residues by

Japan raised on 18.10.2012 ( Japan raised the MRL from 0.01ppm to 0.2ppm in January 2014) resulted in 22% loss of export value of shrimps to Japan.

• Trade concern 375: US non acceptance of OIE categorization for BSE
• Trade concern 306, 308: MRLs for pesticides at default value (LOD) for

commodities by EU & US (for basmati rice)

• 660 pesticides that were not in use in EU territory at the limit of

determination

• USFDA rejected shipments of Basmati Rice due to presence of fungicide

Tricyclazole resulting in huge loss for exports

Experience of some trade barriers faced by India Trade barriers: Export of Mill Scale to China: Mandatory certification by CCIC a single private organization recognized by AQSIQ. Harmonization of Sampling and Testing Procedures/ process for peanut & Peanut products within EU ( Rotterdam port & Spain) Sampling and Testing Procedures are much stricter for bird feed than for human consumption
