STAR ASSESSMENT

 STAR Reading™ assesses reading comprehension and skills for

independent readers

 All STAR assessments are computer-adaptive tests (CATs).  Approx 20 mins  Ipad/computer/laptop  For every STAR assessment, children receive a scaled score (SS), which is

based on the difficulty of the questions and the number of correct answers.

 Scaled Scores relate to three developmental stages: Emergent Reader,

Transitional Reader and Probable Reader

 The Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD)  Reading Age  Repeated half termly

ACCELERATED READER

 Children choose a book within ZPD range.  Take a quiz within 24 hours.  Pass rate can be altered.  Looking for 100%  Each book has a point score attached depending on length.  Set pupil targets
