MHP – CH148 Cyclone Current Stage: Implementation Description : Acquire 28 CH148 Cyclone helicopters (Sikorsky) to provide a shipborne maritime helicopter capable of conducting Anti- Submarine Warfare (ASW), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Search and Rescue (SAR) and utility missions. Project includes ship modifications, training, facility upgrades and In-Service Support. Project Milestones Contract Award Nov 2004 Capability Delivery in Blocks Block I – Initial Surveillance, ASW and Utility (delivery in progress) Block II – Fully Operationally Capable Initial Operational Capability 2018 In-Service Support end 2038 (est) 4

CP140 Aurora AIMP Block III & IV / ASLEP Projects Current Stage: Implementation Description: To structurally life-extend and operationally upgrade 14 CP140 Aurora aircraft in order to support operations to 2030. Blocks I and II upgraded legacy and communications and navigation systems. Block III and ALSEP are underway and will upgrade all mission and sensor systems concurrent with structural life extension. Block IV will add a wideband SATCOM capability as well as Link 16 and a self- protection suite. Project Milestones ASLEP and AIMP Block III – Initial Operational Capability in 2014 with Full Operational Capability by 2019 AIMP Block IV – Initial Operational capability in 2019 with Full Capability in early/mid-2020s 5

CH146 Griffon Limited Life Extension (GLLE) Current Stage: Option Analysis Description: To extend CH146 operating life to 2030+ through the replacement of obsolete avionics, instrumentation and displays with an integrated digital systems architecture. Project Milestones Contract Award 2020 IOC 2024 FOC 2026

  8. Cormorant Mid-Life Upgrade (CMLU) Current Stage: Option Analysis Description: To extend the operational life of the CH149 to at least 2040 and provide capability improvements to enhance its overall mission effectiveness. Project Milestones Definition Approval 2020 Contract Award 2023 7

CC144 Challenger Consolidation Project (CCP) Current Stage: Option Analysis Description: To extend Administrative Flight Service capability for VVIPs and continue Utility Flight Services (such as Aeromedical Evacuation and Disaster Assistance Response Team advance party) as a cost effective alternative to other RCAF fleets and commercial air. Project Milestones Definition Approval 2019 Contract Award 2021

Joint Unmanned Surveillance & Target Acquisition System (JUSTAS) Current Stage: Option Analysis Description: To provide an all-weather, persistent, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and payload delivery capability in support of CAF domestic and expeditionary operations. Project Milestones (Ranges) Contract Award 2020-2022 IOC 2025-2028 (1 line of tasking available for operations) FOC 2026-2029 (3 lines of tasking, aircraft, infrastructure & personnel in-situ)

Snow and Ice Control Capability Recapitalization (SNICCR) Current Stage: Option Analysis Description: This project will provide high speed snow removal and de-icing equipment designed for airfield operation, to replace an aging fleet of snow and ice control equipment. Project Milestones Definition Jun 17 Implementation May 18 IOC Nov 20

  12. Armament Loader Replacement (ALR) Current Stage: Definition Description: This project will provide a safe and reliable armament loader fleet capable of supporting CF188 fighter aircraft operations. Project Milestones Definition / Implementation Jun 17 IOC Aug 18

  13. CMA – Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft Current Stage: Identification Description: To equip the CF with a long-range manned Maritime Patrol, Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capable, Command and Control, Communications and Computers (C4) and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft to complement existing and future ASW and C4ISR capabilities such as JUSTAS, CH148 Cyclone and space- based solutions. Project Milestones Initial Operational Capability in early 2030s Full Operational Capability by mid 2030s Estimated Life Expectancy 2060 Intent is to pursue opportunities for innovation with industry with a view to building on the strengths of and lessons learned from AIMP 12

  14. Strategic Tanker Transport Capability (STTC) Current Stage: Identification Description: This project will replace the existing fleet capability, including strategic airlift, air-to-air refuelling and VIP transport after a potential life extension. The platform will provide air-to-air refuelling for both domest i c and expeditionary coalition operations, while complementing the strategic airlift capabilities of the CC-177 fleet.   15. Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Current Situation: Options Analysis Description: Address the modernization/optimization of the ab initio Pilot, ACSO and AES Op training to Wings Standard. FAcT is to implement a relevant, flexible, effective and affordable solution which modernizes/optimizes the training system to meet current and future CAF requirements. The solution must continue and improve upon the training currently provided by the expiring NFTC and CFTS services contracts as well as the training currently conducted at 402 Squadron. Project Milestones Contract Award: 2021 Initial Operating Capability: 2023 Full Operating Capability: 2027 14

  16. Tactical Integrated Command, Control and Communications (TIC3) Air Current Situation: Options Analysis Description: (1) Replace and modernize RCAF Air Traffic Management and Air Defence radio networks, (2) establish domestic Link-16 and Streaming Video Ground Entry Sites and standardize deployable Tactical Data Link and Streaming Video capability, and (3) provide a Link-16 capability to the CC150 Polaris Tankers.
