ERES Energy is a member of the Afin Holding Group, responsible for a large amount of development in various sectors in Romania since 1995, including the automotive and real estate sectors.

HISTOR ORY

The legislative changes that took place at a national level in the renewable energy field implied the creation of a new business environment. In this frame ERES Energy was created, formed by personnel with over 15 years of experience in Romania’s business sector. Founded in 1995 as the real estate division of the Cefin Group, Cefin Real Estate activities started with the development of the properties used by the group’s automotive division. Since 2001 Cefin Real Estate developments included products aimed at the market, initially in the industrial and logistic segment of the market and, since 2005, also in retail, office and residential. The total built surface delivered by Cefin Real Estate is currently 350.000 sqm and the business model typically see the entrance in partnership of real estate investment funds at an early stage. In such time, Cefin Real Estate acquired over 3,000,000 m2 of land for developments in various sectors in major cities around Romania, including full consolidation of thousands of land parcels.

WHO WE ARE

ERES Energy is a company established in January 2012, formed by personnel with over 15 years of experience in Romania’s business sector. It represents the synthesis of multiple talents and multidisciplinary experiences of several years of activities in the sectors of real estate, green energy projects, supply-chain and processing of biomasses.

Our goal is to create investment projects

designed as “agro-energetic pole”, in which agriculture and energy production from renewable sources work in symbiosis.

We design and develop complex agro-energetic systems, made available for investors interested in important opportunities regarding the return on investment of their own capital, assured by the new incentive scheme. At the same time, these complex systems are inclined to favor the development of the important potential of the Romanian rural system, yet mostly underutilized.

The total amount to be invested in the realization of new plants for the energy production from renewable sources is estimated in the range of 10.5bn EUR, considering a target of approximately 4.1GW.

The projects we develop involve various technologies and applications combining efficient energy use and solutions to generate energy out of renewable sources. We offer various full services according to customer needs that comply with European quality standards and the eligibility criteria required by institutional investors and Investment Funds.

Our services aim to approach current issues in a professional manner and focus on two important areas:

decrease of energetic intensity through implementation of state-of-the-art technologies; creation of alternative energy sources in order to restrict greenhouse gases, as well as the mitigation of side effects of such gases on people and environment. Where does the future energy come from? In an ever-changing energetic environment, sources of energy origin are utterly important. Our solutions are characterized by the implementation of integrated high-yield energy solutions based on renewable energy sources such as sun heat, biomass and biogas. We aim to manage projects from their inception to their completion, ensuring all aspects that affect the development are properly managed.

Cogeneration

ERES has been active in the development and consultancy for biomass and biogas projects in the last two years. Noting the requirement to effectively source the biomass, ERES is working closely with AgroEnergy Experts for agronomical expertise. ERES services has included provision of feasibility studies and agronomical consultancy.

Photovoltaic

Since its inception, ERES has dedicated a special attention to the development of photovoltaic plants, both on land and on buildings (Building Integrated Photovoltaic - BIPV). ERES activities include both the direct development and consultancy to third parties for projects in this sector.

ESCO Services

Being an ESCO (Energy Service Company) gives us the advantage of providing an extensive range of smart energy services addressing energy-saving, green energy production and project design and implementation.

Agro-energetic systems

A real agro-energetic system assumes the synergistic integration of three different production activities, each with characteristics of peculiar interest and mutual “ensuring" and "optimization" factor for the other:

• Cultivation of 500 - 5000 ha for the production of wood biomass with Short

Rotation Forestry techniques

• Energy production from biomass using the co-generation technology
• Production of pellets to be allocated to the domestic market and export

(optimizing the use of the local production of wood biomass and the availability

• f heat from the cogeneration plant).
