Activation • Through Internet or by Phone – No need to be “On Campus” to activate • Set short delays between attempts until acknowledged – Email – Pager – Office – Cell – Home Customizable • Customizable-Could send Informational Message or Require a response – Informational-”JCAHO is here” – Require Response-”Mass Casualty Accident, indicate your response time” Email Notification 2

Current Use- Call Center Activation • Code White-Weather • Code Yellow-Mass Casualty • Code Orange-Terrorist Threat • Life Safety Plan-Relocation/Evacuation • Incident Commanders • Trauma Team • Group message to all managers – Events – Reminders Case Study • Hall of Fame weekend in Cooperstown, NY 2007 – Cal Ripken & Tony Gwynn inducted • 75,000 visitors arrive to town • Coordinated with Emergency Preparedeness Director in event of mass casualty or terrorist incident • Entered on-call list for the weekend into R.E.D.
