My name is Sra. Diaz. I'm the spanish teacher at Endeavor Charter School. I'm

  • riginally from Peru.

I'm really happy to be part of the Endeavor family and I'm looking forward to meet you and sharing my latin culture with you. This is my 10th year teaching music at Endeavor Charter School. I have a degree in Music Education from Elon University and I am currently finishing my Masters in Music Education with an emphasis in wind band conducting through American Band College and Central Washington

student with the chance to experience performing on stage. I have 18 years of experience in the performing arts and am trained in areas such as musical theater, professional acting, dance, and voice! I love teaching theatre arts and can’t wait to start this new school year with you! Hello! My name is Jennifer Tatum and this will be my 13th year of teaching Visual Arts at Endeavor! I have been teaching for over 16 years and enjoy working with students of all ages and experience. My hope is to be able to inspire your creativity, expose you to a variety of art materials,, teach you about artists and their historical impact, and to encourage you to express yourself and find your artistic place in the world. I can’t wait to see your creativity in action this year!

In the Visual Arts class, students will:

★ Learn about the elements of art ★ Discuss art from other cultures and time periods ★ Learn about famous artists and artists from our community ★ Experiment and learn techniques using art supplies of your choice ★ Meet as a class on Zoom and share our projects ★ Be Creative!

In this class, students will build reading, writing, speaking and listening competencies in Spanish. In this course, students will not only reinforce vocabulary, but will be exposed to fundamentals as grammar as well. Students will aim to speak at partial to full-sentence length and communicate on familiar topics using words they have practiced and internalized.

General Drama 5-6

In this General Drama class, students will:

  • Learn about basic principles of Theatre Arts.
  • Be introduced to improvisational skills.
  • Study Scripts and learn how to create characters.
  • Practice using vocal variety while performing digitally.
  • Please note: In this class students will be

sending/uploading digital recordings of their performances to Mrs. Colvin.

Health/Fitness 5-6

In this class, the students will….. × Learn basic principles, concepts and benefits of health, fitness and nutrition. × Apply motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities and exercises through active participation. × Understand concepts, strategies and tactics that apply to the learning and performance of movement, exercise and game play through active participation. × Apply tools such as food labels to plan for healthy nutrition.

Digital band beginning band will allow students to choose and learn a new musical instrument. Instruments include flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, French horns, trombones, and

  • percussion. We will have instrument specific zoom meetings to

learn in small groups. Remember, these electives are just for first quarter, so if you are interested in band, now is the time to try it out!

Digital band plays music to fit all levels. We will not be using smart music this year. Instead, band will be a more project based and recording based class using apps such as acapella and zoom

  • groups. We will play music of many different styles including movie

soundtracks and comical pieces.
