What can we do about this?

We can change Northpine; How?

The City of Cape Town provides a law called the Special Rating Area (SRA) By-law 2012 as amended 2016, enabling property owners to:

  • Address problems of public safety

and security

  • Discourage public mischief and

criminal activity in the area

  • Halt the decay and vandalism of

public areas

What does this mean for us?

As a Special Rating Area (SRA) we can:

  • Top-up/ supplement the municipal

services currently provided to us

  • Improve public safety by getting

security for visible patrolling and surveillance cameras

  • Beautify public areas through

cleaning and greening projects

  • Support/ partner with social

development organizations to address social issues in Northpine
