  • Minimum of 60 credits

  • Often referred to as GPA
  • GPA is calculated at the end of each quarter:
  • Each letter grade is assigned a numerical value
  • A=4
  • B=3
  • C=2
  • D=1
  • F=0
  • The average of the letter grades your child received from all 7

  • Students must received a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.0

Monitoring Success

  • Grade reports are mailed home the week after each quarter ends.
  • Progress reports are mailed home midway through each quarter.
  • If a student receives a “D” or “F” grade, please contact the

teacher directly to work out a plan for success.

  • Progress reports are sent in plenty of time to raise a failing grade

to a passing grade by the end of the quarter.

  • If your child falls below the minimum requirements, you will be

contacted by the Learning Director or Counseling Technician.

  • A meeting will be set up to discuss a plan for success.

Preparing for High School:

UC A-G Requirements

In high school, students will need to meet requirements to go straight to a four year college. In every case, the student must meet the requirement with a grade of “C” or better.

  • 2 years of World and US History
  • 4 years English.
  • At least 3 years of Math classes (highly recommended to take additional math classes).
  • 1 Life Science (Bio or Anatomy) AND 1 Physical Science (Chemistry or Physics)
  • 2 years of a foreign language (3 Year Recommended)
  • 1 Fine Art (art, theater art, choir, dance, and band classes)
  • Additional 1 year of college prep elective
