The Montgomery County Environmental Crimes Task Force seeks to improve and protect public health and the environment through responsible enforcement and comprehensive outreach and education

Mission

The Environmental Crimes Task Force is a partnership between local municipalities, enforcement agencies, and regulatory organizations:

  • Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office
  • Montgomery County Environmental Services
  • Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office
  • Municipalities: City of Dayton, City of Riverside, City of

Trotwood, Harrison Township, Jefferson Township (e.g., Code Enforcement, Public Works Departments)

  • Local Police Departments
  • Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County
  • Ohio Environmental Protection Agency

Litter Crew

  • Deputy Jackson supervises a crew of female

inmates from the S.T.O.P. program

  • S.T.O.P. stands for Secure Transitional Offender

Program and inmates are required to complete community service as part of their treatment and remediation

  • Deputy Jackson coordinates the cleanup of over

250 roads throughout Montgomery County annually and contacts the appropriate road departments for bag pickup

  • We assist any police agency within in

Montgomery County with prosecution of illegal dumping complaints.

  • Areas experiencing illegal dumping activity

may be targeted with surveillance cameras.

  • Complaints with no suspect information are

placed on a clean-up list for inmate labor or Road Department clean up.
