What is the Workforce Recruitment Program?

Purpose

  • increase the representation of people with

disabilities in the federal government and private workforce.

  • provide paid work experience to college

students and recent graduates with disabilities in internships and summer or permanent jobs at

  • ffices world-wide.

How does the WRP work in RI?

  • Career Services and Disability Services work

in partnership to provide this opportunity to students at URI

  • URI will partner with other interested colleges

and universities in RI to bring this opportunity to students with disabilities throughout the state

Who is Eligible?

In the 2012-2013 Academic Year:

  • Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors are eligible

to interview for summer internships.

  • Seniors and students who graduated in December

2011or May 2012 are eligible to interview for paid summer or permanent positions.

Who is Eligible?

Students must:

  • Have a disability
  • Be enrolled in a degree program on a

substantially full-time basis

  • Be a United States Citizen

Student Responsibilities

  • Complete online WRP application.
  • Be on time for and participate in the interview.
  • Bring resume to the interview.
  • Dress appropriately.
  • Understand the WRP process.
