• Many girls are sensitive, relational and perceptive; they

tend to remember hurt longer

• Healthy self-worth in girls is linked to the security found

at home. Greater self-confidence in girls from supportive homes.

• Fatherly figures are important in a girl’s life. Dads

encourage more risk-taking.

• Believe in your child; emphasise her strengths.
