Creation
The Corps Mondial de Secours NGO was created in 1972, after a deadly tsunami in Bangladesh the year before. Some of welknown French characters such as Clara Candiani, Abbé Pierre, Michel Cepède, Gilbert Cesbron, Théodore Monod have the launch of the organization. Today the NGO has 150 members.
Objectives
In order to save lives and instantly come & help populations suffering from natural disasters, the Corps Mondial de Secours (CMS) recruits and trains free volunteers every year.
Partnerships
The world is changing fast and natural disasters seem to increase and amplify. In such a moving environment, the

On a yearly basis, training sessions are developped to enhance three profiles : Logistician SAR – Level 1 : perfect knowledge

charged of mentoring the new members. All trainees are required to have their National Rescuing Certificates prior to joining the organisation. Exercises are planned throughout the training sessions to offer the most realistic situations which can be met by the

As soon as a natural disaster is announced by medias, rescuers are contacted and a team is being prepared. Simultaneously, Local authorities are contacted via embassies or consulates Partners are informed Appropriate Equipment is being prepared Transportation and shipment is being organised If the relief proposal is accepted, a meeting point is given to rescuers for departure. Timeframe for setting and launching an operation : 12H to 48H Operation costs abroad ranges between 5 to 90 000 € depending on time, location, number of rescuers engaged (15 to 25).

The Corps Mondial de Secours owns and manages an important volume of specific equipment which is used for both trainings and operations. Regularly maintained, tools quickly need to be replaced to ensure an effective use on the field. Three main criteria for shipping the relief material : Weight and volume capacity to ensure fast and easy transportation (customs, freight, carriage). SMART equipment to offer a flexible usage and ease adaptation to challenging environments. Full autonomy of the team provided with oil, petrol, tents, food, SAR equipment in order to ensure complete mobility. VOLUME OF EQUIPMENT USED PER OPERATION : 3.5 T
