to ¡the ¡plans ¡for ¡the ¡new ¡residenBal ¡properBes, ¡however ¡have ¡not ¡had ¡the ¡ kerbs ¡legally ¡dropped ¡therefore ¡vehicles ¡are ¡illegally ¡crossing ¡the ¡public ¡ pathway ¡to ¡gain ¡access ¡to ¡the ¡drives. ¡

• Prior ¡to ¡the ¡road ¡changes ¡and ¡the ¡

introducBon ¡of ¡a ¡temporary ¡ramp ¡there ¡was ¡ reasonable ¡spaces ¡for ¡10-­‑12 ¡vehicles, ¡the ¡ implementaBon ¡of ¡the ¡temporary ¡ramp ¡has ¡ now ¡resulted ¡in ¡the ¡loss ¡of ¡3 ¡potenBal ¡ parking ¡spaces ¡for ¡residents. ¡

London Road – Large Vehicles / Large goods lorries

• There ¡is ¡a ¡growing ¡issue ¡with ¡the ¡size ¡of ¡

vehicles ¡parking ¡along ¡London ¡Road, ¡ resulBng ¡in ¡drivers ¡frequently ¡uBlising ¡ the ¡equivalent ¡of ¡2 ¡potenBal ¡parking ¡ spaces ¡in ¡order ¡to ¡park ¡there ¡vehicle. ¡

• Residents ¡occasionally ¡find ¡that ¡large ¡

goods ¡lorries ¡are ¡also ¡using ¡the ¡spaces ¡ along ¡London ¡Road. ¡

• Lorries ¡are ¡regularly ¡parking ¡

inappropriately ¡which ¡is ¡resulBng ¡in ¡an ¡

• bstrucBon ¡to ¡other ¡vehicles ¡and ¡more ¡

worryingly ¡an ¡obstrucBon ¡to ¡ pedestrians ¡trying ¡to ¡safely ¡cross ¡ London ¡Road. ¡

London Road – Shops / Saxon House

• The ¡arrival ¡of ¡the ¡Sainsbury’s ¡Local ¡and ¡Saxon ¡

House ¡development ¡has ¡resulted ¡in ¡addiBonal ¡ pressure ¡on ¡parking ¡spaces ¡in ¡the ¡immediate ¡ area ¡outside ¡the ¡12 ¡terraced ¡houses. ¡

• Whilst ¡parking ¡for ¡the ¡shops ¡has ¡been ¡provided ¡

to ¡a ¡degree, ¡residents ¡will ¡find ¡that ¡when ¡ parking ¡is ¡unavailable ¡outside ¡the ¡shops ¡then ¡ should ¡a ¡space ¡become ¡available ¡outside ¡the ¡ terraced ¡properBes ¡then ¡the ¡space ¡will ¡be ¡filled ¡ very ¡quickly. ¡

• With ¡the ¡consultaBons ¡for ¡Hackbridge ¡North ¡(Rail ¡StaBon) ¡currently ¡underway ¡

these ¡dwellings ¡will ¡be ¡located ¡within ¡close ¡proximately ¡of ¡2 ¡major ¡developments ¡ for ¡Hackbridge, ¡Hackbridge ¡Railway ¡StaBon ¡and ¡the ¡shops ¡with ¡parking ¡not ¡ allocated ¡to ¡the ¡residents ¡which ¡have ¡been ¡residing ¡within ¡Hackbridge ¡prior ¡to ¡the ¡

• developments. ¡

• The ¡restricBons ¡introduced ¡in ¡Elm ¡Road ¡have ¡now ¡pushed ¡the ¡parking ¡problems ¡in ¡to ¡Longfield ¡

avenue, ¡Link ¡road ¡and ¡Senga ¡road. ¡

• Longfield ¡Avenue ¡has ¡lost ¡3 ¡spaces ¡in ¡the ¡last ¡month ¡to ¡disabled ¡spaces ¡for ¡the ¡doctors. ¡
• Saxon ¡House ¡was ¡built ¡with ¡insufficient ¡parking ¡for ¡its ¡residents ¡who ¡now ¡use ¡Longfield ¡and ¡Senga ¡

for ¡long ¡term ¡parking. ¡ ¡

• Commuters ¡are ¡parking ¡along ¡these ¡three ¡roads ¡daily. ¡
• Currently ¡if/when ¡residents ¡move ¡there ¡vehicles ¡they ¡find ¡they ¡can ¡be ¡waiBng ¡for ¡days ¡to ¡be ¡able ¡

to ¡park ¡in ¡the ¡road ¡in ¡which ¡they ¡reside ¡or ¡even ¡within ¡a ¡close ¡proximity ¡of ¡their ¡properBes. ¡

Hackbridge – Potential Solution for parking

In ¡many ¡streets ¡residents ¡find ¡it ¡difficult ¡to ¡park ¡near ¡their ¡homes ¡due ¡to ¡high ¡ levels ¡of ¡non-­‑residents ¡parking ¡there. ¡This ¡can ¡cause ¡significant ¡problems ¡for ¡ parents ¡with ¡young ¡children, ¡people ¡carrying ¡heavy ¡shopping, ¡and ¡elderly ¡or ¡less ¡ mobile ¡residents, ¡seriously ¡affecBng ¡their ¡quality ¡of ¡life. ¡These ¡parking ¡problems ¡

• een ¡occur ¡near ¡railway ¡staBons, ¡shops, ¡hospitals ¡and ¡colleges. ¡

If ¡you ¡have ¡difficulty ¡parking ¡near ¡your ¡home ¡because ¡of ¡commuter ¡or ¡shopper ¡ parking, ¡a ¡controlled ¡parking ¡zone ¡(CPZ) ¡will ¡usually ¡solve ¡the ¡problem. ¡ Signs ¡at ¡all ¡entrances ¡to ¡a ¡CPZ ¡inform ¡you ¡of ¡the ¡days ¡and ¡hours ¡that ¡waiBng ¡is ¡ not ¡allowed ¡on-­‑street ¡on ¡single ¡yellow ¡lines. ¡Bays ¡within ¡a ¡CPZ ¡can ¡operate ¡at ¡ different ¡Bmes ¡of ¡the ¡day ¡to ¡the ¡yellow ¡lines ¡and ¡reserve ¡parking ¡ ¡for ¡different ¡ users ¡such ¡as ¡residents ¡and ¡businesses ¡displaying ¡a ¡valid ¡permit ¡or ¡visitors ¡ purchasing ¡a ¡pay ¡and ¡display ¡Bcket. ¡
