Breakdown of GCSE Final Grade

(Practical) 3 x sports = 30% (Coursework) 1 x written = 10% (Theory) 1 x 1.5hr exam = 30% 1 x 1.5hr exam = 30%

‘Usually’

  • Each student will receive a mark out of 25
  • Video evidence will be collected to justify marks for the

exam board.

  • 23/25 = Grade 9 (equivalent to A**) – exceptional

performance

  • 17/25 = Grade 5 (equivalent to high C) – good standard

  • Further evidence e.g. horse-riding score cards, golf

handicap score cards, cricket batting/fielding statistics, dance grading result, ranking information etc

Submission and Marking……………

  • Practical assessments and moderation will be

carried out at various times throughout the course

  • Video footage will be moderated by HGS staff

and across schools within the RKLT.

  • Moderation is crucial to ensure marks are

correct.
