Aim of this presentation
Breakdown of GCSE Final Grade
(Practical) 3 x sports = 30% (Coursework) 1 x written = 10% (Theory) 1 x 1.5hr exam = 30% 1 x 1.5hr exam = 30%

Practical Assessments – IN SCHOOL
‘Usually’
- Football
- Rugby
- Hockey
- Netball
- Handball
- Each student will receive a mark out of 25
- Video evidence will be collected to justify marks for the
exam board.
Why………………..?
- 23/25 = Grade 9 (equivalent to A**) – exceptional
performance
- 17/25 = Grade 5 (equivalent to high C) – good standard
Does it appear so difficult to get full marks when my child is really good?
What if………………..
Teacher has awarded 15/25 but my son plays football for Leeds Utd and surely must be full marks?
