Elementary Virtual Learning Goals
- Provide students the same content whether at school or at home.
- Content continuity: Utilize in-house curriculum that creates consistency
with virtual and face-to-face
- Provide for easy transitions between virtual and face-to-face
- Establish common assessments for virtual & face-to-face learners and
follow district grading guidelines.
- Partnership with Home Facilitator to follow a recommended daily
schedule for students.
- Required daily one-to-one check-ins and weekly group check-ins using
Google Meet.
- Dedicate personnel whose only responsibility will be teaching virtual
students assigning content, monitoring progress, student feedback, virtual meetings, home visits, etc.
What Families Can Expect
- All VL courses will be asynchronous (self-paced student
work) with some instruction face-to-face, and small/large groups. ○
This will allow time for independent and collaborative student work with teacher support.
- Student/Home Facilitator can anticipate a full school day of
instruction and “school work” just as if in person.
- Student/Home Facilitator will receive training prior to VL
instruction starting
- A recommended daily schedule will be posted.
- Daily one-on-one meetings with virtual teacher, as well as
small/large group meetings utilizing Google Meet.

Ponder Elementary will use in-house curriculum for all students participating in virtual learning, utilizing SeeSaw & Google Classroom as the LMS (Learning Management System).

Seesaw
Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, files, links and more. It’s simple to get student work in one place and share with families! Families will download the free Seesaw Family app, create an account and connect to their child’s journal. Families with receive an invite code from their child’s teacher to connect.
Google Classroom
Google Classroom makes teaching more productive and meaningful by streamlining assignments, boosting collaboration, and fostering communication. Educators can create classes, distribute assignments, send feedback, and see everything in one
- place. Classroom also seamlessly integrates with other Google tools like Google Docs,
Sheets, Slides, etc.

Secondary Virtual Learning Goals
- Provide students the same content whether at school or at home
following district grading guidelines. Delivery is difgerent, but exposure to content is the same.
- Content continuity - utilize Edgenuity to provide aligned content
for virtual learners on a weekly basis
- Establish daily/weekly checkpoints for virtual learners to
monitor progress.
- Provide for easy transitions between virtual and face-to-face
- Dedicate personnel whose only responsibility is to serve our
virtual learners. (assign content, monitor progress, provide student feedback, host virtual meetings, make home visits, etc.)
What Students Can Expect With Virtual Learning

leader utilizing Google Meet.
- 1-0n-1 meetings can be scheduled with a virtual leader
as needed.
Ponder Junior High and High School will utilize Edgenuity for all students participating in virtual learning.

Student Progress for Each Class
FACE-TO-FACE GUIDELINES 2020-2021
- TEA’s recommendations are that as many students as possible be a car rider, or
walk to school. ○ This will assist us with the ability to transport students who have no other mode of transportation.
- Students who ride the bus will be required to hand-sanitize and wear a mask upon
entering the bus.
- PK-5 students will:
○ Be required to wear a face covering in common areas ○ Remove their face covering while eating ○ Remove their face covering while in their homeroom engaged in instruction
- 6-12 students will be required to wear a face covering at all times except while
eating.
- PK-5 students will be sent to their classroom immediately upon entering the
building after hand sanitizing.
- 6-12 students will report immediately to their assigned designated area after hand
sanitizing.
- Hallways will be divided to promote social distancing
- Hand sanitizer will be used upon entering each classroom.
Face-to-Face Guidelines
- Rooms will be arranged to keep students as safe as possible.
- Will strive to maintain 6 foot social distancing when possible/will not always be
physically doable.
- Goal at PK-5 is to create an environment where a family unit is established at
school; therefore, PK-5 will be self-contained for all grade levels
- K-5 will not be required to wear a mask when they are in their classroom with their
school family unit.
- For PK-5 Specials will be going into classrooms to conduct their instruction
- For PK-5 Recess zones will be created around the school to keep classes separated
- PK-5 Lunch will be in the cafeteria and gymnasium
- 6-12 students will utilize multiple spaces for eating areas
○ Socially distancing as much as possible ○ Possible implementation of dividers- looking at difgerent options
- Due to COVID visitors to campuses will be very limited.
○ No visitors will be allowed to eat lunch with their student ○ At this time no parties or field trips ○ Designated holding areas and extensive screening will be required for visitors when necessary
