INTRODUCTION

We do not have a special (national) Risk Management programme in Poland. Polish Equestrian Federation works

  • n the fundament of FEI safety programme. Last year I

have presented our education system – education is our basic task- education for safety is at the first place.

During a competition it is possible to organize a training on the water fence on the cross-country

  • course. It has to be done in presence of Officials

chosen by the Technical Delegate and under the Stewards’ supervision. This training is allowed in LL /90 cm/ and L /100 cm/ classes only. The horse can only cross the water fence on in walk during this training

Safety provisions in Polish Eventing Rules:

Safe afety ty pro rovisions isions

We have new regulations:

  • We have central database of serious

accidents during the events. President of GJ must report to NF all serious accidents within 24 hours

  • Rider can compete again only after the

special medical examination (not during the events)

  • Similar situation after serious accident

with horse – horse can compete after the special vet examination

Our federation is planning to buy air jackets for the best Polish riders

In our opinion the understanding of safety in all groups: riders, trainers and officials is still growing. Generally we have reduced problem of dangerous

  • riding. Nevertheless it is still very difficult decision

for GJ and TD to take, when it comes to punishing the competitor. According to a reports from all national competition in Poland in 2014 - officials eliminated only 1 rider on cross country because of dangerous riding reason.

FE FEI Su Suppor port

What we need is the support from FEI. The best solution would be to develop FEI standards for national competition. There is a need of new memorandum with :

  • The minimum number of officials per 100

horses

  • Ambulance and vet – standard, etc.

BAD EXPERIENCE

I have only one bad experience - Last year I have presented on our conference some examples from Polish competition which were showing problems and mistakes. That caused me a lot of trouble in my country.
