Pitkin’s current playscape is 18 years old and students with limited mobility are unable to access the playground. The size of the existing playground also limits the amount of children that can play on it during recess.

Octobe October- Parents held initial meeting with principal Novembe November- Committee of parents & teachers formed (Pitkin Playground Committee). Input from educators, occupational therapists, physical therapists, parents, kids, and local social media blogs on which playground components to include Decembe December- Met with vendors to get designs & quotes

October- Awarded a $75,000 grant from Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. Selected vendor for playground install November
