  • Step 1 – Prior to a bill being sent, the billing system performs a high low quality control check

(compares the previous readings to the current readings)

  • Step 2 – If high low, the a field activity is created to verify the high low
  • Water meter, register, and ERT combination (no equipment mismatches)
  • Register and ERT readings are correct (same reading)
  • No City or Customer leaks
  • Step 3 – If any of the above, an adjustment is made and a corrected bill is sent to the customer

Increased meter read accuracy of AMR vs. manual reads

  • Pre-AMR (manual meter reading) resulted in a 97% average

read accuracy.

  • On average 3% of the monthly meter readings resulted in

either a high or low meter reading, which would have resulted in a high or low monthly bill.

  • Today (Post-AMR), we have a 99.9% meter read accuracy.

SLIDE 17

Field Check

  • Check Equipment Installation (mismatches). Water meter, register, and ERT combination
  • Verify Read. Register and ERT readings are correct
  • Check for Water Meter Leaks. City side
  • Field Consumption Test. Volunteer basis
