The aim of the physical education (PE) programme is to develop :
the physical, intellectual, social and emotional skills 21st century competencies, Core values through physical activities and
enriched programmes By building foundation for the development of broad-based physical competencies and
- pportunities for recreational participation.
To inculcate love for Sports at a young
age and instill sense of responsibility to look after self (healthy lifestyle)
To improve the fitness level of the pupils.

Movement Concept Approach
lower primary level (foundation)
- focuses on mastery of fundamental motor
skills such as locomotor, non-locomotor and manipulative skills with application of movement concepts to develop efficiency, effectiveness and versatility in students’ performance.
upper primary level extends on the mastery
- f discrete skills
- to focus on more complex combinations and
sequences of movements, and skills application in activity and games

Pupils sit for NAPFA test at P4 and P6 only. Test items remain the same (5 static items
and 1.6km run/walk)
Testing period is from April to Aug In RGPS: Preparation period starts in Term 1
Test conducted in May, re-test in July- Aug
New NAPFA (2014 onwards)
