Deadlines and Details

  • Available Funding: $4.6 Million

– Max $250,000 per partnership

  • Application Deadline: Friday, January 3, 2020
  • Partnerships must align with the PAsmart

Framework principles and funding priorities

  • Applicants must adhere to the Next Gen IP

model (Appendix A) PAsmart Next Gen IP Grants

Framework

  • One grant to fund both convening and implementation

activities.

– Funds for convening activities capped at $45,000/partnership.

  • Previously funded PAsmart Next Gen grantees:

– Can apply to fund both convening and implementation activities – Are not required to apply for funds to support convening activities

  • Partnerships that have not yet received PAsmart Next Gen

Funds:

– Partnerships that have not developed an action plan or identified business driven priorities will only be awarded funding for convening activities. – Must clearly demonstrate that business-driven priorities have been identified and an action plan has been developed to receive funds for implementation activities.

Allowable Activities May Include but are not Limited to:

Convening Activities

  • Facilitating Next Gen partnership meetings,

including launch activities.

  • Attending commonwealth-sponsored Next Gen IP

trainings or events.

  • Engaging business champions and business

partners from the defined industry of focus.

  • Organizing and facilitating partnership meetings

for businesses and the regional support team to discuss local competitiveness needs.

  • Working with businesses to determine the

partnership priorities.

  • Developing a post-launch action plan.
  • Maintaining partnership post-launch.
  • Procuring consulting, technical assistance and

convening/facilitation services that use the Next Gen IP model.

  • Supporting training including: Incumbent worker

training, Work-based learning experiences, and registered apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship

  • pportunities.
  • Aligning curriculum with business needs,

providing career awareness, and aligning with programs of study and career readiness activities across secondary and postsecondary education.

  • Coordinated outreach of the region and industry
  • Business-to-Business networking
  • Developing and implementing sector strategies

that promote in-demand as well as competitive

  • pportunities for Pennsylvania industries and
  • ccupations.
  • Improving workforce alignment and career

readiness within and across targeted industry clusters.
