Goals / Scope of the Project  • Improve the experience of visitors & students/faculty/staff in navigating the campus. •Develop proposals for upgrading campus signage, nomenclature & maps to improve the clarity of wayfinding. Coordinate with future digital wayfinding applications. •Include consideration of different modes of arrival/transport including vehicles, pedestrians, bikes & buses. •Develop a consistent nomenclature for naming of campus, streets, buildings and landmarks . •Provide a hierarchy of signage elements for campus approach, arrival, circulation, parking & buildings. •Maintain a consistent & appropriate image for the university.

Progress to Date and to Finish  Programming Phase Public Workshop- May 2014: Information Gathering & Stakeholder Input Public Workshop- October 2014: -Wayfinding Signage: Presentation of Programming Report & Feedback -Digital Wayfinding: Information Gathering & Stakeholder Input Schematic Design Phase -Development of Signage Master Plan & Concepts -Development of Nomenclature Proposal -Digital Wayfinding Recommendations/Preliminary Report Next Steps -Public Presentation of Schematic Design- September 2016 -Coordination with future digital wayfinding -Development of Signage Bid Package (approx. $5 million cost) -Construction in Spring/Summer 2017

  4. Next Steps  September 2016 : Input on Street and Place Names  October 2016 : Formal Approval November / December 2016 : Bidding of the  Work May 2017 – August 2017 : Sign Placement 
