Main & 18th Park Site

Main & 18th Park Currently known as ‘Poodle Park’

Background

Opened in 2013, commonly referred to as ‘Poodle Park’. Park acts as the gateway to the mid-Main district. Design elements include:

• Stormwater infiltration features
• Mature trees, new trees, and shrubs
• Grass berms
• Tables and chairs
• Public art (Poodle) designed by

Yukon & 17th Park Site

Yukon Street and 17th Avenue – Currently unnamed

Background

Opening in fall 2016, will serve the surrounding neighbourhood and the Yukon Street cyclists. Design elements include:

• Timber framed adventure playground
• Separated bike lane, bike repair station,

bike racks and drinking fountain

• A bioswale to manage stormwater
• New trees, maintained mature trees and

new native plant beds

• Grass berms and a passive lawn area
• Raised concrete curved benches and new

seating
