Heavenly Father, We thank you for your continued blessings and for allowing our Church to serve the community of Waialua and Haleiwa for over 160 years. We ask that as we continue to serve this community that you renew our zeal for

• ur faith, strengthen our love for our neighbors and encourage us to be

Christ for all those we encounter in our daily life. Father help us this evening and open our minds and our hearts that we may be ready to receive what you have for us. That we may be open to ideas suggested here and that we be open to sharing our thoughts. We ask this through Christ our Lord… AMEN!

NEW VISION AND MISSION

 Vision:

That all who enter this Church encounter Christ as children of God, disciples of Christ, and stewards of ever gift entrusted to us by our Heavenly Father.

 Mission:

FIVE GOALS OF THE PASTORAL PLAN

1.

FAITH FORMATION:

• increase knowledge and understanding of our faith

by offering comprehensive and systematic programs that focus on the key elements of our catholic faith in an engaging and accessible way.

2.

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS:

T

• lead youth and young adults to Christ by

creating an engaging and accepting environment that calls them to a deeper and active participation in our faith community.

3.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY: T

• strengthen Christian marriages and families so

as to help in creating a domestic Church where faith can grow and God remains at the center of the home.

4.

EVANGELIZATION: T

• foster opportunities for all members of our

community regardless of age or belief to have an authentic and personal encounter with Christ and to encourage them to become active disciples and stewards of the Gospel.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:

• empower and encourage parishioners to

take active leadership roles by creating opportunities for better communication, collaboration and organization.

 OBJECTIVE 1: Establish a

commission dedicated to developing the parish curriculum for faith formation of all ages and focuses on creating programs that will build a strong foundation and foster growth in the faith.

 OBJECTIVE 2: Create

comprehensive and systematic faith formation programs that are engaging and inclusive that are age-appropriate.

 OBJECTIVE 3: Create a database

and or library of links and resources that parishioners can access both online and in person.

GOAL: TO LEAD THE YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS OF OUR PARISH TO CHRIST BY CREATING AN ENGAGING AND ACCEPTING ENVIRONMENT THAT CALLS THEM TO A DEEPER AND ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN OUR FAITH COMMUNITY.

 OBJECTIVE 1: Establish a task

force dedicated to the development of a comprehensive youth ministry program that focuses on goals established by the USCCB in Renewing the Vision.

 OBJECTIVE 2: Encourage youth

and young adult participation in all parish ministries (includes school).

TO STRENGTHEN CHRISTIAN MARRIAGES AND FAMILIES SO AS TO HELP IN CREATING A DOMESTIC CHURCH WHERE FAITH CAN GROW AND GOD REMAINS AT THE CENTER OF THE HOME.

 OBJECTIVE 1: Establish a team

dedicated to family formation that focuses on strengthening families through spiritual, service and social paths.

 OBJECTIVE 2: Create programs

• r events dedicated to family

formation based on interest and needs of parish families.

 OBJECTIVE 3:Offer a program

dedicated to helping families on the margins who are in need of support during hardship i.e. a lost loved one, divorce, abuse or neglect.

GOAL: TO FOSTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY REGARDLESS OF AGE OR BELIEF TO HAVE AN AUTHENTIC ENCOUNTER WITH CHRIST AND TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO BECOME ACTIVE DISCIPLES AND STEWARDS OF THE GOSPEL.

 OBJECTIVE 1. Create

• pportunities for parishioners

to witness to each other regarding their faith and encounters with Christ.

 OBJECTIVE 2: Create programs

for returning Catholics or Non- Catholics seeking to join the Catholic faith. This program will serve as an avenue for anyone searching for a place to call home and for their faith to grow.

GOAL: TO EMPOWER AND ENCOURAGE PARISHIONERS TO TAKE ACTIVE LEADERSHIP ROLES BY CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR BETTER COMMUNICATION, COLLABORATION, AND ORGANIZATION.

 OBJECTIVE 1. Create a better

system of communication to better the communication between parish leadership and parishioners.

 OBJECTIVE 2. Offer workshops

and day retreats for all parishioners that focus on leadership development.

 OBJECTIVE 3. Designate

funding for development of parish ministers, catechist and leaders.
