  2. Why Transpl splant ant is is Sp Specia ial  Last Night in the OR by Bud Shaw, MD  OTTR IS Tracking for Life  Integration is Key 2

  3. Integr grat ation ion Go Goals ls  The original goals remain the same. ◦ Reduce duplicate data entry and increase data integrity. ◦ Provide the means by which a view of the comprehensive medical record is possible.  Beyond the basics. ◦ Optimizing user experience and workflow. Understanding the different user roles.  Creating a seamless and timely flow of data.  ◦ Ensuring data exchange is secure.  Why are interfaces so difficult… 3

  4. Integr grat ation ion Chall llenges enges 4

  5. OTTR In Integr grat ation ion  Challenges ◦ Data without context is not meaningful data. ◦ Workflow considerations. ◦ Implementation roadblocks Environment considerations, hardware considerations, and people’s time.  ◦ Transaction formats, standards, and nomenclature.  Opportunities ◦ New methods/concepts/initiatives supporting data exchange are emerging. CDA/CCD  FHIR – Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources.  “Direct” Messaging  Regional HIEs - Data warehouses and repositories.  Commonwell – a huge push for an infrastructure to support nationwide  interoperability. 5

  6. Partne nershi rship p wit ith Cerner er  Partnership announced March 2014  Discovery ◦ Understanding Transplant ◦ Developing a common vision for workflow ◦ Making decisions about features and functions ◦ Evaluation of current customers ◦ Solidifying the integration roadmap  Our Pilot Site Partners ◦ Indiana University Health ◦ St. John Medical Center ◦ USC Keck ◦ Florida Hospital 6

  15. Partne nershi rship p wit ith Xyn Manag agem emen ent  What is Xyn Management ◦ Created in 2012 ◦ Principals  Dr David Axelrod, Transplant Surgeon – Chief Dartmouth  Jennifer Milton, Transplant Director – UT San Antonio  Mark Schnitzler, Professor – St. Louis University  Jay Milton, COO – XYN Management ◦ “Better Patient Care / Better Transplant Outcomes / Better Program Performance” 15

  16. Partne nershi rship p wit ith Xyn Manag agem emen ent  Products and Services ◦ XynPlot – Predicts future SRTR results, helping preserve Center of Excellence (COE) status and reduce risk of regulatory sanctions. ◦ XynTrack – Compiles and summarizes outcomes, providing data that reveals patterns and root causes. ◦ XynChart – Predicts the likelihood of success for each patient according to the different transplantation option available. ◦ Wait List Management – Monitors patients and updates records through regular telephone contact by trained waitlist managers.  Integration with OTTR is primarily with the XynChart product ◦ 85% of all required data is already in OTTR ◦ 15% are also valuable and potentially has other uses in OTTR 16

  18. Partne nershi rship p wit ith Xyn Manag agem emen ent  Ideal Workflow ◦ Create a patient. Complete demographics and referral.  Add Height and Weight + Key Lab Results.  Start Eval  Complete “Transplant Risk Factors” tab (New)  ◦ Validate the Xyn Data (to ensure all required data is populated) ◦ Transmit the Xyn Data ◦ View Reports which are returned and posted as text documents.  Items on the “Transplant Risk Factors” tab in the Eval ◦ Solid Organ Risk Factors ◦ Individual Comorbidities ◦ Charleston Co-morbidity Index ◦ Desensitization Procedures 18

  23. Partne nershi rship p wit ith Xyn Manag agme ment nt  Status of this Integration Project ◦ Development began in Q4 of last year. ◦ Testing at Ottr and with our Pilot Customer Q2 and Q3 this year. ◦ Deployed to production in September 2015.  Comments from Kim Barnett, Director of Transplant Services for Pinnacle Health System ◦ Pinnacle has been using Xyn Products for almost two years. XynPlot and XynChart  ◦ Same concept for validation and submission as RA which makes it intuitively easy to work with. ◦ Staff is currently using the new tab in workflow.  See Steve Williams for more info and/or to get this feature on your OTTR Roadmap! 23

  24. CCD Devel elopm opment ent Projec ects ts  Inbound CCD ◦ Integration with the Allscripts EHR - Sunrise Clinical Manager ◦ Pilot project now in the testing phase at University of Kentucky Medical Center. Deployment to prod scheduled for November. ◦ Currently Supports: Problems, Allergies, Medications, Immunizations, and Vitals  Outbound CCD ◦ Still in development. ◦ Currently Includes: Problems, Allergies, Medications ◦ Future deployment options: User initiated generation of a CCD on a single patient from Ottr7.  Scheduled trigger of a CCD on a single patient or subset of the entire patient  population. Generation of the electronic XML formatted file for automatic transmission to a  target destination system. 24

  25. Stem Lab Integr St grat ation ion  Stem Lab Integration ◦ To support enhanced workflow for the OTTR BMT product. ◦ One vendor currently engaged in discussions to pilot the project – Stem Soft. ◦ Key Elements: Clinical process takes place in OTTR.  Demographics and “collection order” sent to Lab  Lab does cell processing and inventory  Lab sends product detail back to OTTR, where needed for the permanent clinical  record. OTTR treats lab data as external data and does not allow edits  OTTR provides a display of the combined Clinical + Lab story.  Visual Integration (button) used to allow Clinical users to open Lab system for  Display 25

  26. Contin inuous uous Appli lica cation tion Improvem vements ents  OTTRFeed Enhancements ◦ Support for inbound orders to actions. ◦ More configuration options for the storage of insurance. ◦ Configuration to support email when OTTRFeed encounters an error. Logging of Errors to the Database.  ◦ More options for outbound interfaces: Outbound Documents in MDM format  Outbound ADT  Outbound Allergies  Outbound Discrete Labs  ◦ Improved processing options for ICD-10. 26
