Some General Tips on Virtual Fundraising
- Keep it simple.
- Make it fun.
- It’s easier to raise money for a specific project or cause.
- If the funding is going to another organization, develop a good
relationship to leverage value from partnership.
- Promote the event/activity at every opportunity.
- Consider partnering with other clubs to share costs & increase
reach.
- Think creatively on how you take an old idea and re-imagine it in
the virtual world.

- What is an East Coast Kitchen Party?
- COVID -19 with 3 weeks to go….and our in
person event is cancelled..!
- Re-imagined into a virtual event on
Saturday May 30th – How?
- Group Chaired by DGE David Elliott of the
London RC
- District wide – Fun free, community stay at
home event, funds raised by personal
- donations. (Sponsors covered expenses)
Results…
- Increased the profile of Rotary through
social media and local radio
- Supported local economy
- Gift certificates/door prizes
- Themed Restaurant Take Away Meals.
- Engaged and connected 17 clubs
- Supported 20 different projects
- 812 guests (say a min of 2 per sign on
- ver 1600)
- Raised over $60,000 cdn. net
